Daily Schedule

A Typical Day at HCSSiM

  • 7:30am – Eat breakfast
  • 8:34-12:34 – Classes (during the first three weeks, this is all one four-hour class, and during the last three weeks it’s split into a 2.5-hour class and a 1.25-hour class)
  • 12:34pm – Eat lunch
  • 1:34 – Do stuff during the afternoon. Maybe you’ll play frisbee, or bocce, or work on the program journal, or take a nap.
  • 17:00 – You’ll attend the Prime Time Theorem until 6:00
  • 6:00 – Eat dinner, and then break (play frisbee during the break? even in the rain? sure!)
  • 7:17-10:17 – Problem session
  • 10:17-11:17 – Hang out
  • 11:17 – Quiet time

An Atypical Day at HCSSiM

  • 4:30am – Eat breakfast
  • 8:34-12:34 – Bear-wrestling
  • 12:34 – Eat shoe leather
  • 1:34 – Do stuff during the afternoon. Maybe you’ll play contrabass saxophone, or water polo, or write a paper on the influence of novel broccoli-cultivation methods on Brezhnev’s foreign policy, or take a nap.
  • 17:00 – You’ll stare at a wall until 6:00
  • 6:00 – Eat breakfast again, and then break (play saxophone during the break? even in the rain? sure!)
  • 7:17-Dawn – Multiply very large numbers together, in your head.
